Final Reflection

• What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?
• My favorite discovery during this learning journey was the ability to create a website using the Wet Paint Website. I also enjoyed creating this blog using Blogger. I never realized that these types of sites were available for free and so easy to use. I can see myself using these sites in the future during my teaching career to successfully implement Web 2.0 technology into my curriculum.
• How has this course assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?
• Even before I realized that this course was offered, it was my goal to learn more about web 2.0 tools. As I have mentioned before I am not a certified teacher I am still working towards my degree and I have heard buzzwords like web 2.0, wiki's, webquests and more many times during other education courses. So I knew that in order to secure a job I would need to become proficient in these areas if I wanted to become competitive in a very tough job market. This course has introduced me to these concepts, and has allowed me to work with them so that I have some type of experience. 
• Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this course that surprised you?
• I have to say that almost everything I am taking away from the course was unexpected for me, simply because I had no idea what to expect and had no experience with Web 2.0 prior to this class.
• What could we do differently to improve upon this course’s format or concept?
• I think that for the most part the course went very well and needs little improvement. My one suggestion is to make it a requirement for collaboration for the webquest project. I know I worked with one other person and with his help my we came up with some great ideas. I think the whole concept of Web 2.0 is online collaboration and learning. Most of the students in our class were resistant to working in groups. I think this mindset goes against everything we have learned during our class.
• If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again chose to participate?
• Absolutely I have learned so much here, but I am also aware there is so much more for me to learn. Thank you for the opportunity.
